MY JOURNEY AND VISION

Inspired by God, I embarked on creating Agape's Healing—an online space dedicated to Healing Touch and Spiritual Direction. What started as a divine nudge, despite legal and logistical hurdles, became a passion rooted in love, faith, and the desire to serve others remotely.

The Early Stages

Developing an online presence was a challenge, especially given my early concerns about dehumanizing relationships online. That's why I prioritize video sessions—I believe seeing each other fosters genuine connection, even from a distance.

HEALING TOUCH AND SPIRITUAL DIRECTION

Healing Touch is energy work that offers comfort and healing beyond the clinical. Like sunlight warming us, energy travels—no physical contact needed. It’s a form of spiritual direction without words, directed by faith and intention.

Spiritual direction has been a lifelong gift. From childhood, I listened deeply to others’ stories, honing my ability to accompany people empathetically through life's challenges.

NAMING THE BUSINESS

Choosing a name was a journey. I used AI tools, brainstorming and refining until I settled on "Agape's Healing"—a name that embodies divine love, surrender, and wholeness. The tagline, evolving from my logo inspiration, captures the essence of Light, Love, and Balance I hope clients experience during sessions.

Agapelibrium

I knew I wanted "Agape" in the name. However, "Agape" is popular, so it was difficult to find a way to make it unique. Feeling discouraged, I started playing with combining words. Eventually, I made up a new word: "Agapelibrium", meaning "Love in balance". While I liked it, sharing it with others was met with mixed reactions, especially with how to say it. I also noticed the similarity to "Librium" (a drug), so I decided to drop it as a business name, but the word remains meaningful to me. Hence, I used it for my Substack newsletter.

LOGO AND WEBSITE

The Logo was actually much easier, since I knew the logo would visually represent what I wanted to do. I initially started out with something very "clip-arty". I basically designed it in Microsoft Word.

Old Logo

I decided I wanted to work a heart into the image. After many revisions, the current one has all the elements of my original ideas, but looks more professional and less like clip art thrown at a wall.

The website was an exercise in relearning how to write code. However, every element reflects my dedication and personal touch—every detail designed by me, from code to services.

J

I have experience in helping people through many different traumatic experiences. I understand what might be minor to one person (like falling off a bike), might be hugely traumatic for another. I accept each person where they are within the context of processing their experiences.

In my spare time, I sing in my church choir, volunteer with the State CISM Team and Heartland READY, and spend time with my family (including the non-human members).
